This is based on a mostly true story.

I liked a girl very much and I wanted to show her how much by giving her a small tub of candied bacon that I made the night before. I really did this.

Listening to this song with 2018 ears, I think this song is about what the kids on social media called "getting cucked". Think about it... you pour your heart and soul out and put yourself out there to win the affections of that special someone and end up eating dirt. We've all been there. Just don't hurt me too much, please. Don't give this strange guy you take home tonight any of the bacon I gave you. I beg you. Be discreet, leave me some dignity.
