When death comes he wants to be ready When death comes he wants to be fully dressed When death comes he'll be sitting in his favorite chair We got a guitar and a standup bass for you A fiddle, a mandolin and a banjo Gonna send your spirit peacefully along and play you out on a pretty bluegrass song We will sing for you mountain music We will sing for you on your dying day We will sing for you mountain music We will sing for you, send you on your way Everybody's pickin', pickin' up a storm pickin' and a-grinnin' to keep your spirit your warm You're gonna go to that good place above Filled with special memories and love We will sing for you mountain music We will sing for you on your dying day We will sing for you mountain music We will sing for you, send you on your way When death comes he wants to be ready When death comes he wants to be fully dressed When death comes he'll be sitting in his favorite chair We will sing for you...

It's been two months since we let each other go You tried to leave, so did I, we both said no Not calling each other, not even a text You blocked me on Twitter, what could be next I say things about you, you mess with my name You say that I'm wrong but I think you're to blame I'm learning to live without you I'm learning to live, learning to live without you It's been too long, we can't keep staying mad Needing time away from each other oh so bad I've been at home, wasting my days You've been up and down along the highways I'm getting to used to not hearing your voice What else can I do, I don't have a choice I'm learning to live without you I'm learning to live, learning to live without you

The Past 02:37
Do you remember the past Are you mad that you can't go back to those times Whether you're 18 or 99 Do you remember yesterday Or did you curse the light and let it slip away once again Wishing you could be with your friends and the good times when they never end I lived a million years ago I hope to live a million years from now in the songs I wrote That is my hope I hope that I will see you there And I don't want to hear you say to me that life isn't fair Don't be scared Don't be scared Don't be scared Do you remember the past Well, do you remember the light Do you remember the past Well, do you remember the light

Centaur 02:59
I was born to be your centaur You don't know it but it's true Galloping outside your window Crying it to you You weren't meant to be with me Saddle up and take a ride I'll take you anywhere you want to go and never break my stride

Who are you, Mike Farmer? Who are you, Mike Farmer? Who are you, Mike Farmer? Who are you, we're asking you. Are you are a nice boy or are you a mean old man? Is this all we have or do you think there's a heaven? Why are you yelling all the time? Why are you yelling when you cry? Who are you, Mike Farmer? Who are you, Mike Farmer? Who are you, Mike Farmer? Who are you, we're asking you. Do you like people? Do you love people? Do you want people around? Or do you hate their sight and sound? Will you be good to yourself? Be good to all around? Will you love the isolated? Will you let the love surround? Who are you, Mike Farmer? Who are you, Mike Farmer? Who are you, Mike Farmer? Who are you, we're asking you. Who are you? Who are you? Who are you?

I Exist 02:59
Gesturing, gesticulating Demonstrating my presence Explain my effervescence but I'm a face in the crowd It isn't pleasant I just want her to see me Has it come to this I'm not in the background I exist Crying like a war criminal in despair On the stand, but the judge isn't there Something came up, she's washing her hair Can't get a verdict, she doesn't care I just want her to see me Has it come to this I'm not in the background I exist Yes it's true Would you know if I do I exist You ignore Like I don't anymore Gesturing, gesticulating Demonstrating my presence Explain my effervescence but I'm a face in the crowd It isn't pleasant She treats me like I am Passed out in the ditch Crying for a handout I exist

You let me down when I need you All the grief I can't take Sometimes I want to throw you And watch you sink in a moss-covered lake I treat you than I do myself and yet you find a way to run too hot You're burning up again, you burning bitch I want to shut you down But you're all I've got You introduce me to new friends I wouldn't meet on my own They all leave when you go away You provide the mother's milk of the serotonin Windows not responding Binary fails corresponding Windows not responding Hardware failure, memory absconding

Die Alone 04:23

about

A few years ago, a friend of mine suggested I record an album in a church. Little did he know that I already had and shelved the results. This is a mostly finished project. The first track has lyrics but I didn't have time to record them.

The first eight songs were recorded at a nice church in Greenville, Kentucky who would appreciate it if I kept their name out of this. The first six of these songs were recorded by Patson multi-tracking using multiple mics to capture the auditorium sound of the room. I played the grand piano up on the stage which was close-miked. I double tracked some of my vocals and they match up most of the time.

"Who Are You, Mike Farmer" and "Mountain Music" were recorded as an early trial session on the church's 2-track recorder and were both done in one take. This early session took place in November 2013 and the next one took place a month later.

"Die Alone" was recorded at Patrick Goble's studio office in Bowling Green. I'm not sure when I recorded this but it might have been the summer of 2013.

I undertook this project because of a showbiz friend who suggested I try to find a place with a good sound and a good piano and record my songs there. Lucky for me, I knew Patson and he suggested using the church where he worked during the holidays when no one would be around (it is also something of an elementary school).

My friend had flirted with releasing something of mine as he had a boutique label at the time and he enjoyed my music. Alas, it was not to be.

This was a difficult time in my life. These songs aren't trying to be funny except for maybe "Windows Not Responding". Some of my favorite songs are here, and there is a lot of emotion behind them.
